CV

Hi, my name is Andy and I'm a fun guy.

I was born in the international metropolis of Shanghai and raised in the sleepy armpit of Silicon Valley, South San Jose. Like my upbringing, I would like to believe I'm a little bit of all worlds. At school, I double dip in both the humanities and the sciences with degrees in visual arts (film) and computer science. While I don't believe a college accredation represents the sum total of a person's character, I do think these two degrees embody my interest in visual storytelling and a desire to create.

I am driven by two principles: making things look good and building relationships. As I'm typing this, I am aware that this is beginning to sound like Modelo/Nike ad. However, unlike Phil Knight, I have limited financial incentive to say this. For me, these principles help inform my direction and interests: I love working on team projects, studying the aesthetics of my favorite commercials, tv shows, and movies, and dream to own a fried chicken and coffee shop in retirement.

See ya soon!

My Projects

(May 2020 - Present) Aiso (Japanese: 愛想) was a web app (react, python/azure) designed to connect university alumni with current students seeking housing. A poor man's airbnb with the simplicity (that is, lack of a middle man) of craigslist, we built Aiso with the intent of being a platform of individuals to connect within their universities. Former and current students are able to post and find listings for roommates, offer housing, and fulfill any other housing-related needs.
